As part of the 2023 acquisition of Ascension Healthcare's Providence Hospital by the University of South Alabama, USA Health Providence Hospital temporarily remains on some of Ascension Healthcare’s information technology systems.

Beginning May 8, Ascension Healthcare IT systems — including Providence Hospital — began experiencing network disruptions. At that time, USA Health initiated procedures to ensure patient care was minimally impacted and patient information protected.

As of 2 p.m. Thursday, June 6, the core electronic medical record (EMR) has been restored at USA Health Providence Hospital.

At USA Health, patient safety is our priority. We remain committed to ensuring our patients receive the highest level of compassionate care in the safest environment possible.
