University Hospital launches new gift shop
The Shoppe is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
University Hospital leaders, volunteers and staff celebrated the opening of the hospital’s new gift shop, called The Shoppe, at a ribbon-cutting ceremony recently.
Located near the lobby exit, The Shoppe offers gift items such as balloons, stuffed animals, apparel, books and jewelry, as well as snacks and goodies for patients, their families and employees.
At the event, Chaplain Kim Crawford Meeks, spiritual health and counseling manager for USA Health, presented Human Sunshine awards to Ashley Peyer, volunteer services manager, and clerks Pat Taylor and Hannah Mabry. “You may go to The Shoppe for a gift for a loved one or a candy bar treat, but you come away with a friend and a smile,” she said. “Ashley, Pat and Hannah exude kindness, joy and give support to everyone who enters The Shoppe.”
University Hospital CEO Josh Snow, MSHA, thanked Peyer for her hard work to prepare the new store, which is a gift to all employees, families and patients. The event also featured free popcorn and cookies, and a wheel to spin for prizes. View photos.
