USA Health-trained pediatrician joins Pediatric Associates of Mobile

Pediatric Associates of Mobile/USA Health is building on its reputation for trusted child healthcare with the hiring of Kelly Ison, M.D. She joins a group of pediatricians that counts more than 100 years of combined experience among them.
Ison is board certified in pediatrics by the American Academy of Pediatrics. She completed her residency in pediatrics at USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital. A graduate of the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine, Ison built the foundation for her medical school education as a magna cum laude graduate with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from Auburn University.
“I knew early on that I would be a pediatrician because of my love for children,” she said, “but also because it is a great privilege to form 18-year relationships with patients and their families.”
As a student, she participated in mission trips to Peru and Ecuador, and she volunteered with local organizations, including The Exceptional Foundation of the Gulf Coast and Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Alabama.
Ison and her husband, Philip, reside in midtown Mobile with their son, Bennett. She credits her experience as a parent as being another asset to her role.
“As a new mother, I now have insights and understanding that only parents can have that I am eager to share,” she said. “I look forward to continuing my career in pediatric medicine at Pediatric Associates of Mobile/USA Health.”
