About Christopher M. Kinnard, M.D.
Dr. Christopher Kinnard graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology in 2001. He then received his Master of Science in Zoology and a minor in Biochemistry. In 2003, he attended Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana, and earned his Doctor of Medicine in 2007. He completed his residency in general surgery at University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama, in 2012.
Dr. Kinnard entered private practice in 2012 with Magnolia Surgery in Warner Robins, Georgia, in General Surgery. In 2015, he joined the faculty at the University of South Alabama as a clinical instructor prior to completing a Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Florida in 2017. Following his fellowship, Dr. Kinnard joined the Department of Surgery as an Assistant Professor. His clinical interests include emergency general surgery and trauma surgery. Dr. Kinnard has been involved in a number of research projects throughout his career. His current research interests include indications for rib plating and thromboelastographic.
Dr. Kinnard was recently appointed Program Director Surgical Critical Care Fellowship.
