The Alabama chapter of the American College of Surgeons held its annual conference jointly with the Mississippi chapter and featured speakers from across the region, including surgery faculty from the Whiddon College of Medicine.

In 2022, USA Health became the only health system in Alabama and the upper Gulf Coast region to achieve accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer.

USA Health is the first health system in Alabama and the upper Gulf Coast region to earn the three-year accreditation.
