While completing his general surgical residency training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Dr. Liles completed a three-year National Institutes of Health T32 basic science research fellowship.
Dr. Liles' areas of clinical interest include melanoma, breast, endocrine pathology and gastrointestinal malignancies. He has authored numerous articles on these and other subjects.
He is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons, National Medical Association and Society of Surgical Oncology.
