Offers 24-hour, 365-days-a-year residential care, serving a wide range of disabilities. It stands as the only residential facility in Mobile catering to such a varied degree of disability. Mulherin Custodial Home also provides respite services for community individuals, offering families a "break" or temporary housing for their loved ones.

Housing First
Offers housing programs to assist families with children, unaccompanied youth (18-24 years old), chronically homeless individuals, and homeless individuals and families with a disability, including unaccompanied individuals. Supportive Services for Veteran Families aids low-income veteran families experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Waterfront Rescue Mission (Men)
Offers beds to program clients and overnight guests. Non-program guests may stay each month with a $10 co-pay. Bad weather nights and five holiday nights are available at no cost to those without income.

Family Promise of Coastal Alabama
Serves single-parent, dual-parent, and multi-generational families. Must be 21 years or older with at least one dependent child under the age of 18. Call for more information. A phone assessment is required, and additional steps may include an in-person interview, background check, and drug screening.

Penelope House
Helps victims of intimate partner violence to gain social and economic independence through shelter, counseling, advocacy, and referral to community resources and agencies in Mobile, Washington, Choctaw, and Clarke counties in Alabama. The shelter can provide refuge for victims and their children when their lives are in imminent danger.
