Heart Care For Cancer Patients
Cancer treatments can often put additional strain on a patient's heart, even if that patient has not previously been diagnosed with cardiac issues.
At USA Health, our heart specialists collaborate with oncologists at USA Health Mitchell Cancer Institute to identify and assess patients who may be at risk for cardiac complications. Using a multidisciplinary approach that includes cardiology, nursing, social work, pharmacy and nutrition, we work with and carefully monitor patients to help reduce the risk of any damage to their heart during cancer treatment. A plan of care may include medication, education, nutrition counseling and more.
