Providence Hospital in Mobile, Alabama, is a full-service, 349-bed hospital that provides 24/7 emergency care and a Level III trauma center. We offer exceptional birthing services, surgical care, and specialty care.

The hospital is the heart of the Providence Campus, which includes primary care clinics, outpatient specialty clinics, rehabilitation services, and a pharmacy. Here you can find a wide range of treatment options including minimally invasive procedures, imaging, lab tests, wound care, and diabetes care.

Emergency Care

The Providence Hospital Emergency Department provides 24/7 emergency care, including a Level III trauma center, and our emergency department is family-centered, offering pediatric emergency care for children. Before you leave the ER, you will be connected with specialists who can provide follow-up care as you continue your recovery.

If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, go directly to the ER or dial 911.

Birthing Center

At the Providence Birthing Center, we have experienced OB-GYNs and an entire team dedicated to caring for you and your baby through your pregnancy, labor and delivery, and follow-up care. And our maternal-fetal medicine and neonatal specialists can provide additional care when needed.

Birthing services are provided by physicians from Mobile Ob-Gyn.

Stroke Care

When someone is experiencing a stroke, time is critical. If a patient receives care within three hours of the first symptom of an ischemic stroke, the healthcare team at Providence Hospital can administer a clot-busting medication, which makes the patient more likely to fully recover and avoid long-term disability. Providence also provides rehabilitation services to help patients recover after a stroke.

In addition to performing procedures in their clinic, the surgeons of USA Health Providence Surgical Services perform many procedures at Providence Hospital. Their services including breast surgery, colorectal surgery, gynecologic surgery, hernia care, orthopaedic surgery, plastic surgery, and spine surgery.

Visitor Information

We ask visitors to Providence Hospital to follow these guidelines in the interest of the health, safety and comfort of our patients:
 

  • Please wash your hands or use hand-sanitizing foam before you enter and after you leave a patient room.
  • Please do not come to visit a patient if you are ill, have a fever, or have been exposed to a communicable disease, such as chicken pox or measles.
  • Please do not bring flowers, plants, balloons or fruit to the Intensive Care or Coronary Care units or to 12 East, rooms 1233-1248.
  • Please limit or avoid the use of strong fragrances.

Parking & Directions

Free visitor parking is located on the west side of the hospital, and a shuttle service is available by calling Security in advance at 251-266-1790. Three RV parking spaces with electrical hookups also are available. Please call Security at 251-266-1790 to arrange use of these spaces.

Valet Parking

Free valet parking is available at the Providence Medical Office Plaza. Please check in at Building B under the canopy on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wheelchairs are available. Valet parking services can be reached at 251-266-1790.

Amenities at Providence Hospital

Our goal is to make your stay or visit with us as comfortable as possible. We offer several convenient amenities to make that happen.

Cafeteria

The cafeteria is found on Level 1 and serves food at the following times:

Hot Breakfast: 7 - 9 a.m.
Continental Breakfast: 9 - 10 a.m.
Lunch: 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Grill: 11 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Dinner: 4:30 - 7 p.m.

Coffee Shop

Yellowhammer Coffee is located on the first floor of Providence Medical Office Plaza in Building B. The shop is open weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Gift Shop

The gift shop is on the first floor, just off the hospital lobby. The shop is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can reach the shop at 251-266-1370.

Wi-Fi

At Providence Hospital, we offer free wireless internet from anywhere inside the hospital to all of our patients and visitors.
